A family-built project with a big heart
Hi, I'm Shannon McGill. WizzKids is a passion project I started to help fill education gaps for kids. I use AI as a way to develop the project for free, or at a lower cost while we build. When it becomes profitable, we want to use less AI and bring more people onto the team.
A family project
WizzKids is led by Shannon McGill, a dad of two with one child in high school and one in college. Right now, it is still mostly Shannon, the kids, and his girlfriend building it together.
AI helps us move faster
We use AI so we can create the game at a lower cost while we grow. As the project becomes profitable, we plan to rely less on AI and hire more people.
Voices and lessons from our home
The character voices were generated with AI voice clones based on our own voices. The lessons come from things Shannon taught his kids when they were younger, plus a few things he wishes he had taught sooner.
Built with the planet in mind
We care a lot about protecting the environment. To help offset the impact of using AI, we drive an electric car, have solar, and keep our yard low-water and low-mow.

We want to help kids learn the things school can miss, in a way that feels playful, kind, and memorable.
What we hope for
We hope WizzKids keeps getting better through real family feedback, and we would love any ideas that help make the project better.
